Ubuntu One Music Store

Feb 27th, 2010 | By CBrookins | Category: News

With the release of Ubuntu 10.04 coming up quickly, Canonical plans to add an Ubuntu One Music Store to the distribution. Ubuntu’s lack of an Itunes store alternative has created a problem for users looking to purchase and download music legally.  There are options available, nothing truly competitive.  I personally have been using the Amazon music store for the past year, and it gets the job done. The fact that Canonical plans to integrate this option into a music manager makes this process that much easier. I have had no problems from Amazon, but to have a music store available without having to open a browser is definitely something I look forward to.

Check out the official plan here.
